Frequently Asked Questions

When is my co-pay due?

Your co-pay is due at the time of your visit.

What if I do not have insurance?

Payment is due the day of service.

Can you bill me for services?

Due to economic factors, we do not bill for services.

How do I know if my insurance will cover treatment?

Patients should call their subscriber service number listed on the insurance card and ask if the policy has a benefit for a particular service

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

We do our billing on-site. The advantage to you is that rather than using a billing company that just processes the statements - we know our patients, and can help you on the spot with any billing problems.

We process your account based on the information provided at the time of service and then bill your insurance company.

You receive your personal account statement for Patient First services only in our statement to you.  Your hospital and certain lab tests are billed separately by those companies.

We wait for payment from your insurance company for 60-90 days.

If we have problems with your insurance company in processing your claim, we may need your help.

Once the insurance has been resolved, you receive a statement from us reflecting your financial responsibility.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

Check your personal  insurance information.  If it has changed or is incorrect, be sure to call our Billing Department.

Keep your statement for your records.  It will be helpful for you to match our services with the EOB (Explanation of Benefits) you receive from your carrier.

You should contact your carrier directly with any questions related to THEIR billing.  They may ask for additional information.  Please let us know what information you have provided to them.

However - PATIENT FIRST is always ready to assist you with any concerns arising with your billing statements and your insurance carrier.  That is a service not found with off-site billing companies.
